Mixing Typefaces

The rule of thumb in mixing typefaces is to not mix more than three in a layout. From typography.com, here's a nice, short article on ways of mixing typefaces to help tell the story.

  1. After reading some of the styles' explanations, I find that a lot of them make a lot of sense and I have felt similar emotions with several of the different styles. I think Beer companies do a wonderful job with labeling and typography in their logos. You can almost "judge a book by its cover" when looking at different beers simply by looking at the label. You may not like what you get, but the fonts reflect the emotional feeling when using the product and the target consumer.
